Grilled Hawaiian Burger Recipe

2 pounds
1/4 cup
1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1 – 15 ounce can
1/3 cup
3/4 cup
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
1/2 teaspoon
1 tablespoon
8 slices
8
lean ground beef
Italian salad dressing
pineapple juice
salt
ground black pepper
pineapple, sliced, reserve juice
pineapple juice
barbeque sauce of choice
brown sugar
honey
onion powder
lemon juice from concentrate
Swiss cheese
hamburger buns, toasted

Recipe Cooking Type: gas grill or brickets


Hawaiian Burger Directions

Put burger meat into a large mixing bowl.
Add salad dressing, 1 tablespoon hawaiian pineapple juice, salt and pepper.
Mix well and shape into 8 patties.
In a small saucepan combine, 1/4 cup hawaiian pineapple juice, barbeque sauce, brown sugar, honey, and lemon juice.
Mix up the hawaiian mixture well.
Cook over low heat until sugar has dissolved, takes about 10 minutes. Grill hamburger patties on a hot grill for about 3 minute on each side.
Baste with barbeque sauce mixture.
Continue to cook on first side until done.
Turn burgers.
Baste with sauce and continue to cook until hawaiian burgers are done. Push Hawaiian burgers to the cooler side of grill.
Top with the Swiss cheese.
Place pineapple onto grill and brown on both sides.
When browned, then place one slice of pineapple onto each hawaiian burger patty. Transfer patties to platter.
Serve this grilled hawaiian burgers recipe along with buns and remaining sauce if desired.
