Spinach Lasagna Recipe

Italian sausage
onion, chopped
garlic, minced
ready cut tomatoes
tomato sauce
sugar
basil
oregano
salt
bay leaves
ricotta cheese
Parmesan cheese
egg
frozen spinach, drained well
mozzarella cheese, shredded
lasagna noodles, cooked

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 45 to 50 minutes
Pan Type: baking pan


Spinach Lasagna Directions

Preheat Oven.

Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
In skillet, cook the ground beef, Italian sausage, onion and garlic together.
Cook until meats are no longer pink.
Drain well.
Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, sugar, basil, oregano, salt and bay leaves.
Cook until mixture starts to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer.
In the meantime put egg into a large bowl and beat well.
Add the ricotta cheese and well drained spinach and mix well. In the baking pan put a thin layer of the meat sauce.
Layer 3 cooked lasagna noodles on top of sauce.
Spoon 1/3 of meat sauce on top of noodles; followed by ½ of cheese mixture and 1/3 of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers ending with a layer of noodles, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.
Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese.
Bake spinach lasagna uncovered for the allotted time.
Remove lasagna from oven when done and let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Serve spinach lasagna with your favorite bread and drink.
